WWOOF Ireland connects visitors with organic farmers and homesteads, and offers an educational and cultural exchange, creating a global community, conscious of ecological farming practices and sustainable living.
To create and support communities that live lifestyles in celebration of organic principles, respecting the local lands of Ireland and cultures of visitors from far and wide.
Goals:
- To provide individuals from all around the world with an opportunity to gain practical skills and education in organic farming, gardening and sustainable living.
- To further the organic and sustainability movement in Ireland and around the world.
- To participate in a cultural exchange.
Aims:
- Create a network within the ecological, organic and sustainability movement
- Promote, inform and educate about agro-ecological farming and sustainability
- Present ecological methods as viable alternatives
- Promote solidarity between people as well as an ethical economy
WWOOF Ireland is a national, Non-profit education charity helping to create local opportunities for organic farmers and to promote sustainable living and farming as a lifestyle. Visitors, or ‘WWOOFers’, share in daily life with their host and learn about organic agriculture, joining in the farming activities. WWOOF Ireland is part of a world wide movement of growing a global community, conscious of ecological farming practices.
